What we call a cookie here
For clarity this policy covers HTTP cookies, HTML local storage, and session storage entries that behave like persistent identifiers. Strictly necessary items may include session tokens issued by our hosting provider when you authenticate.
Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand)
Stored consent preferences may contain personal information. You may ask what we hold, request correction, and complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner following the process in our privacy policy.
Strictly necessary layer
We store your consent choices in localStorage under the key tdde123_cookie_prefs_v1. That file holds booleans for analytics and marketing approval plus a timestamp. Without it the banner would reappear every visit. Forms may set short-lived anti-forgery values required by the server stack.
Optional analytics
If you enable analytics, we may load measurement scripts that set first-party cookies to distinguish repeat visits. Disabled by default; enabling writes the choice into the same JSON object noted above.
Optional marketing
Marketing tags, should we attach any, fire only after you opt in. They may set third-party cookies subject to each vendor’s policy. You may withdraw consent through the Cookie Settings control surfaced in the footer banner.
Managing storage in your browser
Every major browser offers a panel to delete site data. Clearing storage removes consent history and will cause the banner to return on next load.
Map embeds
OpenStreetMap embeds may place technical cookies governed by the OpenStreetMap Foundation. Loading the map constitutes a request to their infrastructure; pause autoplay by not scrolling the map into view if you wish to limit calls.
